Aha! I recognize him *proud of herself* Reno! We met a cosplayer of him at the last CTCon ^^ ...I so totally don't pay attention to FF & KH characters -.-' *isn't a gamer at all* So I'm quite happy when I actually know the name of one.
From an artistic perspective, though, I like his hair. Spiky hair is hard to draw; you pulled it off nicely. And his goggles look cool ^^

Yeah, Advent Children really made Reno popular, mostly because it totally bishounefied him.
Spikey hair has always been my forte, it's long hair that screws with me, though I used to be a lot worse at it.

Yes, my best friend is totally addicted to Advent Children -.-' Practically every time she opens her mouth, she says something about Kadaj or Yazoo or Loz or Reno or Rude or Sephiroth or Cloud or someone I've never even heard of before -.-' ...She's got this thing for Kadaj and Yazoo, though, that I totally don't understand o.0' I should make a mental note to go ask her or Sath for a clearer explaination about that...
Really? It's the total opposite for me. I love taking a sketch of a character's head and building up the hair on it until it ends up impossibly long. That's half the reason Kanami is one of my favorite s-CRY-ed characters to draw. Her hair is fun ^^' So do you have a spiky-hair-drawing secret that I can leech off of you? Or is it another one of those things that you don't get? ^^

The day it came out in Japan I downloaded it and was watching it raw on my computer. But that movie is really only good if you've played the game, and played it a lot mind you. Even if you liked it and you've never played the game, it's a whole other thing when you've played the game.
They are really really pretty, but that's about it, apparently Loz is the ugly one or something, I think they're all ugly and can't replace Sephiroth even slightly. Cloud is just emo, very very emo. In every single thing he's been in he's emo, it's a vicious cycle. He starts out emo, then gets over it, but in the next game he's all emo again. It just repeats itself.
Practice, a lot I guess. Always try new things, it's the best way to evolve your style. Other than that I have no idea, my starting surroundings were Dragonball and then Naruto so go figure. Maybe if I drew a diagram, but I'd rather just go tell you to watch my oekaki animations since it doesn't get much easier than that.

Never watched it, but I'll probably end up being forced to at some point. I'm just not into games, so such things don't interest me. And I'm still convinced Yazoo is secretly a woman. -.-'
Emo-cycle? For some reason I find that oddly funny. Maybe it's just how you phrased it ^^'
Ooble. That's a very different beginning than I had (I started with realism long before I worked with anime, then gradually shifted to a more cartoony style), but I'll keep it in mind. Thanks ^^

The emo-cycle is funny, Cloud is just that emo. I mean it'd be one thing if he'd just get better and stay that way, or even if he was fine for awhile after you see him and then something made him emo, but no, he's always emo before you meet him, then he gets better at the end of the game, then the next game he's in, he's all emo again. It makes me want to kick him or something. Well, I drew a lot as a kid and stuff but it'd be like Disney cartoons or assignments for art classes. I didn't start drawing with anime until my sophomore year in high school, which was about 5 years ago I think. My first stuff was really horrid too. I really don't like drawing women...it's been annoying me more than usual lately...... For some reason sketches come out fine and then something gets lost in the transition.....

I kinda like the smaller figure sketches better than that big one to the left. It's very... plain. You probably should kick him. Or oekaki someone kicking him. I never bothered with cartoons until I got into anime oh-so-many years ago. I drew a lot of birds, a lot of natural things - no cartoons. ^^' My first work was atrocious, too. Nowadays it's just... slightly less atrocious You may hate drawing women, but I hate drawing men Between the two of us, we have a general disdain for depicting the entire human race ^^

That's because the little ones are a lot better than the big one. Which figures since that was the first one I drew so I get better the longer I'm drawing it. The one in the top right corner came out really well for me.

Yeah, that one's probably my favorite. I also like the one to the above-right of the big sketch's head, and the hand on the middle-right.

The eyes on the right side are really good too for some reason, I really like them. I need to practice kissing poses more often....

Ummm... do you mean the eyes on the left, perchance? ^^ There aren't any eyes on the right. Kissing poses are tough - I avoid them whenever possible; it's just hard to wedge two heads together in a way that makes sense and doesn't look stupid...

Indeed I do.........*sits in corner*
Yeah it is really annoying. Mostly, I end up not turning one of the heads enough and they won't match up. I could just draw it plain or wing it, but it'll look stupid and I'm trying to avoid that since it really cuts down on the romance.

Yeah, when you come across kissing art in which heads are squashed and/or malformed and/or in physically impossible positions, it does sort of kill the romantic vibe.
What drives me nuts is when twelve-year-olds and people who've never actually kissed someone fail to realize that noses get in the way if you try and draw two characters kissing head-on. (Actually, I fall into the latter category, but at least I have some vestige of common sense). Unless you're planning to have characters headbutt each other, someone's gotta tilt their head.

Which is why Japanese fanart is awesome, a lot of good kissing references come from pics on sites. I also fall into the latter, but I live off of my common sense, in fact I have enough to actually make up for most of my friends who don't. I don't think this one is as good, the dog on the left side might be the best part....

That is true, although I often get totally lost because I can only read maybe three words on any given Japanese site... the online translations don't help at all because they always seem to make absolutely no sense.
Common sense is a good thing to have - and for its name, it's actually not that common. o.0
I actually don't like the dog; his head looks a little squashed to me. I actually like the one just above the dog, with the odd perspective, lying-down pose. It's pretty cool.

I've been on more Japanese sites than English so I know my way around them pretty well, but it's easy to just roam around them and get to know the sites that way. Though, you do have to watch out for the occasional hidden porn.
Well in psych terms, common sense does not mean what we make it out to mean, but whatever, when I have to stop my friends from walking in front of cars just because they don't have enough sense to check before crossing, psych terms become rather meaningless.
The dog is just a joke idea I had in my head, I mean it's got eyebrows and dots for eyes, I just think it's funny.
I still have some poses I want to try, and I still need a couples pose. Dang that's annoying me.

OMFG *glomps Sora* I like Cloud's eyes, you captured his angstyness :3 More like emoness... The one Reno crossplayer was AWESOME. She was the best one there, and there were how many? Four? Possibly more of them? But yeah, she was awesome. His face got kinda squished and stretched at the same time... But his hair is properly spiky. And I apologize for the lack of sanity in my response, but I'm not of sound mind at the moment. And how can you blame me? It is simply awesome. And you want an explanation of why I'm so obsessed with the SHM, Reno, Vincent, and etc.? Well, first of all, they're drop-dead gorgeous. They wear lots of BLACK LEATHER. If you had read The Official Fanfiction University of Middle-earth in 8th grade when you were terribly impressionable, you'd have a thing for black leather as well. C'mon, the Elves In Black Leather (E.I.B.L.)? Just plain sexy. Elrond looks good in black leather. Second, they kick ass, and they have freaking awesome weapons. Hearts to the weapons in ALL Final Fantasy games. They ROCK. Third, ever seen Yazoo do a back walkover? That explains itself. Fourth, the motorcycles. There are multiple jokes about those, but you wanted me to keep this semi-clean, so I won't go into detail about them. As for the clean bits, they freaking rock! They flip and fly around and only get smashed when it's Cloud's fault. Stupid Cloud. Fourth, the plots. The plots in Final Fantasy are awesome, they truely are. Fifth, and I would think this would be self-evident, they graphics in FF VII: AC. PHOAR. Sixth, Reno's a scamp and a redhead with bright blue eyes. YAY. Do I really have to continue?

Reno doesn't wear leather, just about everybody else looks like they are though. I'm not a Yazoo fan, even slightly. Cloud sucks, period. The plots are not awesome, especially when you take the time to properly analyze them and you end up finding all the plotholes in it. FF7 isn't too bad, although the translation is the most horrid thing since 'All your base are belong to use'. But FF10's plotline has the most plotholes I think I've ever seen in a game. They are awesome graphics, which if you like Vincent, you'd probably like Dirge of Cerberus, it just came out here too, but it's very pretty, which is also the only real good thing about that game, other than it's a shooter that I don't entirely suck at. Reno has green/teal eyes, not blue, zoom in really close on a screencap and your can tell. I could proabably keep going, if you haven't played the game you need to, everybody needs to, just for the background effect and to actually fully get what's going on it FF7AC. The first stuff I drew when I got my new tablet, mostly junk... www.deviantart.com/deviation/38152207/I might draw some more KH2 stuff....
