just watched this yesterday. probably one of the best i've ever seen.
just proving my theory even more:
miyazaki's films > every other anime ever*

Meh. Yet another classic-to-be that I have so far failed to view. I've been meaning to see it for
awhile now... and mine AC minions have all been raving about it, which means that it is either extremely pink or extremely good. And from what art/clips I've seen, it sure ain't pink.
However, while Evangelion may be better than Miyazaki films, I have to say FLCL is most definitely not. I think I finished watching that series stupider than I was when I started. Meaning that it was so bizarrely random that I could make no sense out of it.

I've been wanting to see Howl's Moving Castle for soooooooooo long! T_T I do not have the money nor the time to watch/rent/buy though. But I've read the book, and it's AWESOME!

There are plenty of other things that are just ...there... that are so much better than FLCL. Like Azumanga Daioh. FLCL was just an incoherent bad acid trip. Not that I actually know what an acid trip is like, but that's what I would imagine it to be.

*saw a subbed version*  It confused me lol...since I can understand some japanese (not katakana nore hiragane...specially not kanji ) and was reading the subbing at teh same time each said something dif x.x..but quiet an etertaining movie IMO |

Eh, subs are never as easy to follow as the dubs. A lot of people complain that it's less accurate, but if you look at some of the fansubbing groups' translations these days, it's laughable. Not to mention the English is totally gramatically disastrous. In the end, they fudge it as much as the guys at ADV and Viz. The only real legitimate claim of subbies is bad voice casting.
...One of these days, I swear I'm going to watch that movie -.-' I swear.

No, FLCL isn't an incoherent bad acid trip, it's actually quite coherent. If you're me, anyways. AT least, I did make sense of the first two volumes of the manga. I can't say anything for the anime since the only parts of it that I've seen have been in an AMV or two. It is incredibly random, and seemingly senseless things happen, but it's like Saiyuki, things are so skewed that if you don't either accept it or decide you don't care, you'll wind up with very few strands of hair, babbling incoherently in a mental institution. +^_^+ You get the hang of it after a bit.

She was contrasting Azumanga Daioh with FLCL, not comparing. They're both pretty random, though.
I liked the Azumanga Daioh manga, but the anime is mostly painful because of the squeakyness and that- that- I don't even have the words to describe it- that SONG. URGH. *Shudders* WHY must it exist?! It burns like acid-washed jeans! +X.X+
